Religious Education

At Nelson Mandela School we work hard to develop our children into well rounded, respectful members of society. Through our teaching of RE our main aim is to develop the character of our children and help them understand the diversity of the society they live in. At Nelson Mandela School our RE curriculum is well balanced and covers a wide range of religious traditions, to provide our children with an understanding of all faiths and the importance of everyone being equal. Religious Education offers the opportunity for the deepest values of human life to be identified, shared and discussed. Our curriculum follows 24 moral and cultural dispositions aimed at cultivating and inspiring our children’s knowledge and understanding of different Faiths. Alongside this, our thoughts for the day allow our children to think and talk about matters that are of sincere importance to them, allowing them to share their feelings, understanding and emotions with their peers on a daily basis.
